Sometimes ‘simple’ is the best treatment, and this was one of those times. The tabletop was badly gouged and the legs of all the pieces were scuffy. A deep sanding followed by a slightly darker stain and several coats of hand-burnished polyurethane produced a velvety smooth finish on the table and seats. We used the Pure Home Paints ‘Derby’ on the legs and followed with a special clear coat formulated especially for the paint. The legs have a smooth satin-like finish that catches the light just right.
